Treasure House’s “Key” People: Chuck and Kristin Maslin

As Treasure House grows and gets closer to becoming a reality, we want to take time to highlight the people behind the movement.  Each month, we will feature a community member that is giving of his/her time and treasures to build the first residence for young adults with intellectual disabilities in the Valley.

October’s “Key” People

Chuck Maslin and his wife Kristin attended a Treasure House luncheon in Chandler, featuring Brenda Warner and Melissa Peterman.  Brenda shared her passion for creating a supportive living community for young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, so individuals like her son Zack, who suffered a traumatic brain injury as a baby, could live an independent and full life.

This project quickly resonated with the Maslins, as Kristin worked with special needs adults for years, prior to becoming a special education teacher.  Chuck, an Enterprise employee, submitted a $1500 grant request on behalf of Treasure House that was fulfilled by the Enterprise Holdings Foundation. He and Enterprise employee Ryan Todd presented Lisa Hartsock with the check.

The Enterprise Holdings Foundation donated $36.5 million in FY2017. Ninety-six percent of the grants made by the private foundation fulfilled requests by employees to help community causes they personally champion and actively support.

Won’t you consider joining Chuck and Kristin in support of Treasure House by making a donation today?
