It’s just not summertime without a great vacation! In the summer of 2022, Treasure House residents had the opportunity to travel near and far, all while spending time with family. From trips to the United Kingdom to participating in the Special Olympics USA Games, Treasure House did it all! Here are just some of the highlights from 13 of our residents:
“Katie loves New York! She visited Times Square and the Today Show, rode the ferry, and saw some Broadway shows! She even got to meet cast members!”

Birthday while on vacation? Sounds like a recipe for some serious fun! Treasure House resident, Zach, celebrated his birthday week by having the time of his life in Minnesota!
“Zach made a list of things he wanted to do while we were in Minnesota over his birthday, and it was an action-packed week,” said Cindy, Zach’s mom. “He went out to dinner with friends of his brother who are like family, he went on a pontoon boat, went to dinner at his favorite restaurant and he had a flaming birthday ice cream dessert. He went to Topgolf, to the Minnesota Arboretum, and had a second birthday celebration at another restaurant with a big piece of chocolate cake. Oh, and to top it all off, we were upgraded to first class on the way home. He really loved that! We all had a great time!”

“Our family has been challenged to travel together much since Brett moved to Arizona. We’ve spent much of our vacation time in Arizona VRBOs near Treasure House for time together as a family, and we always look forward to Brett’s visits home.
When home, we enjoy as much time as possible on our boat on Folsom Lake. Other adventures include snowshoeing in the nearby Sierra Mountains and road trips to all parts of coastal California from the Oregon border to San Diego.
Prior to Covid and Brett’s move to Arizona, Brett had lots of opportunities for travel – from Ireland, Scotland & England to Mexico, the Caribbean & Canada. Brett has been to 39 states and has lived in 4 states (Ohio, Pennsylvania, California & Arizona). We look forward cruises and extensive travel again as a family before too long.

“Although Allison hasn’t traveled too far, this summer she has enjoyed weekend family times to shop, eat out, go to movies, swim and relax at our club pool.
On Sundays Allison travels with us to St. Alban’s Episcopal Church in Wickenburg to help out her dad who does supply work there. As a “priest’s kid” she knows her stuff and is comfortable working alongside Gary up at the Altar. Not only that, but the church members have welcomed her with open arms!
Having lived in two Canadian Provinces and five States with lots of family trips in between Allison has been content with this weekend routine as long as she remains close to her favorite place of all. You guessed it; Treasure House!”
